What sets Tibetan wall décor apart and how does it change a room?

What hangs on our walls shows what matters to us and what quality we wish to invite into our home. Tibetan wall décor does not separate beauty from meaning. Every motif comes from Buddhist symbolism and carries a story that goes beyond style and taste.

Our wall décor shows some of the best-known signs of this tradition. The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, which in Tibet has been carved into stones for centuries and laid on mani walls along paths and passes. The endless knot, one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols, whose lines run without beginning or end. And the double dorje, which in the tradition stands for stability and steadfastness.

The pieces in wood and stone are carved and chiselled by hand by Tibetan artisans in the Himalayas, so no two are exactly alike: grain, cut and colour vary slightly. They suit an entrance hall, a living room or a spot beside the altar, and remind you in passing of what they stand for.
