The Chenrezig amulet is made of an image of Chenrezig (Avalokiteshwara) and Avalokiteshwara Mantra (Om Mani Padme Hum) which are rolled up with a colorful thread and sealed in a protective plastic cover.

He is often depicted with multiple arms and heads, symbolizing his ability to reach out to and help many beings simultaneously.
