We are delighted that you would like to learn more about us. tibet-markets.ch is more than just an online shop. It represents a story, a passion, and a deep connection to Tibet and its unique culture.
We have called Switzerland our home for more than 15 years, while always carrying Tibet in our hearts. The belief that handcrafted objects from the Himalayas deserve more than an anonymous place on a shelf has always guided us.
In 2019, this belief became our first project: tibet-markets.ch, starting as a small online shop built with great care and dedication. The response from our customers was truly heartwarming. People from across Switzerland and beyond wrote to us saying they had been looking for exactly this: products with origin, craftsmanship and meaning.
Over time, tibet-markets.ch has grown steadily and become an integral part of our daily life. Since 2021, we have been fully dedicated to this path, continuously developing our range with great attention to detail.
In 2024, we were given a special opportunity. The Boutique Shangrila at Niederdorfstrasse 39 in Zurich was looking for a thoughtful continuation. Established in 1993, it had been built with great passion and brought Tibetan culture into Zurich’s old town. As the founder stepped into her well-deserved retirement after more than 30 years, we were honoured to carry this legacy forward in her spirit.
Today, tibet-markets.ch is both an online shop serving customers across Switzerland and a physical space in Zurich, with a history dating back to 1993.
We believe that every object we offer deserves a story. Our products come from the heartland of the Himalayas, from those high-altitude regions where Tibetan culture, Buddhist spirituality and centuries-old craftsmanship remain inseparably intertwined to this day. We source them carefully from regions such as Nepal and India, where Tibetan artisans, craft families and small workshops carry these ancient traditions in their hands and pass on a piece of Tibet with every single piece. Our singing bowls, prayer flags, incense sticks, statues, jewellery and Sorig herbs are created within this tradition, and we select each piece personally and with great care, standing fully behind its authenticity.
